Check this first: the vent

A clogged dryer vent is the most common reason clothes take two cycles, and it's a fire risk. Pull the dryer out, disconnect the duct, and run the dryer. If it dries well with the duct off, the vent run needs cleaning. Outside, check the flap opens and isn't blocked by lint, a bird nest or lawn debris.

Other common causes

A blown thermal fuse usually means the vent is restricted. Replacing the fuse without fixing the vent means it will blow again.
