How LG problems usually show up
LG appliances lean heavily on electronics. Most models talk to you through a short code on the display instead of just quitting quietly. That's good news when you call for appliance repair in Ocala: a code plus the model number tells an independent technician a lot before they ever reach your driveway, and it raises the chance they bring the right part on the first trip.
The codes below are common examples drawn from LG owner's manuals. Meanings can vary by model and year, so treat them as a starting point, not a diagnosis.
LG refrigerators
- ER IF or ER FF: commonly linked to the ice maker fan or freezer fan. Frost around the fan, or a motor that has stopped, are typical causes.
- ER dH: usually points to the defrost system. Frost builds on the back wall and the fresh-food side warms up.
- ER CO: a communication fault between the control boards. Power surges from summer storms are a frequent trigger.
- Running but not cooling: many LG fridges use an inverter or linear compressor. If the fans run and the coils are clean but it stays warm, a technician needs to check the compressor and its control. Note the age of the fridge and whether it's still under LG's compressor warranty.
- Door ice maker slowing down or dispensing clumps, and water pooling under the crisper drawers.
LG washers
- OE: not draining. Clean the pump filter behind the small lower-front door and check the drain hose first.
- IE: not filling fast enough. Check that both valves are open and the inlet screens aren't packed with scale, which is common on Marion County's hard water.
- UE: unbalanced load. Redistribute heavy items like towels and bath mats.
- dE or dE1: door or door lock problem on front loaders.
- LE: the motor couldn't turn the drum, sometimes from overloading, sometimes a motor or sensor fault.
LG dryers
- d80, d90 or d95: LG's Flow Sense warning that the exhaust vent is badly restricted. Clean the vent before paying for a dryer repair. See dryer vent cleaning.
- No heat: on electric models, a thermal fuse, heating element or half of the 240-volt breaker; on gas models, an igniter or gas valve coils.
- tE1 or tE2: commonly a temperature sensor (thermistor) circuit.
LG dishwashers
- AE or E1: water detected in the base, usually a leak or too much suds from the wrong detergent.
- OE or IE: draining or filling problems, often a clogged filter, kinked hose or a closed supply valve under the sink.
- Cloudy glasses and gritty dishes: often hard-water scale and a filter that needs cleaning.
LG ranges and ovens
- Oven slow to preheat or not heating: bake element, igniter on gas models, or the temperature sensor.
- Touchpad not responding or an F-code on the display: often a control or wiring fault after a power event.
LG symptom checklist before you call
- ☐Write down the exact code on the display, including letters and numbers.
- ☐Find the model and serial number: inside the fridge on a side wall, around the washer or dryer door opening, on the dishwasher's door edge, or behind the range's lower drawer.
- ☐Check the breaker and unplug the appliance for a few minutes to see if a code clears.
- ☐Washer: clean the pump filter and check hoses for kinks.
- ☐Dryer: check the outside vent flap for lint, especially if you saw d80, d90 or d95.
- ☐Fridge: look for frost on the freezer back wall and vacuum the condenser coils.
- ☐Look up your model on LG's support site for warranty status and on the CPSC site for any recall.

Questions people ask
Are you an LG authorized service center?
No. We are an independent referral service and are not affiliated with LG. We connect you with independent local technicians who work on LG appliances. If your appliance is under LG's warranty, contact LG first.
What does OE mean on my LG washer?
On most LG washers OE means the water isn't draining. Clean the pump filter behind the small lower-front door, check the drain hose for kinks, and call if the code comes back.
My LG dryer shows d80 or d90. Is the dryer broken?
Usually not. Those codes are LG's warning that the exhaust vent is restricted. Clean the lint path and the outside vent first. If the vent is clear and the dryer still won't dry, have a technician check it.
Is it worth repairing an LG refrigerator?
Fans, defrost parts and ice makers are usually worth fixing. Compressor and sealed-system work costs much more, so check whether LG's compressor warranty still covers it and compare the price to a new fridge.
How much does LG appliance repair cost in Ocala?
As a rough estimate, most common LG repairs fall around $120 to $450 including parts and labor, plus a service call fee of about $75 to $150 that is often credited toward the repair. Compressor work can run more. These are estimates, not quotes.
